The Canons, Mitcham
A major heritage-led regeneration programme securing the future of The Canons, a historic landscape and collection of buildings reflecting more than 500 years of Mitcham's history. Supported by National Lottery and Merton Council investment, the project combined conservation with new community, cultural and recreational uses.
I helped lead the project through partnership development, planning, procurement and community engagement, appointing the landscape architect and design team, liaising with the National Lottery Heritage Fund and coordinating consultation with residents, schools, heritage groups and council services. The delivery programme subsequently restored Canons House and its historic landscape, while introducing a café, play facilities, a new public square and spaces for community, business, exhibitions, events and creative activity.
